Kathleen A. Lang practiced for over 35 years, primarily at Dickinson Wright, PLLC, in the areas of commercial litigation, class actions, intellectual property, and products liability defense. She currently is a fellow in the International Society of Barristers and previously served on its board of governors and as the Membership Chair for Michigan. She is a fellow in the State Bar of Michigan Foundation, the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Foundation, and the Oakland County Bar Foundation. She previously was a member of the Litigation Counsel of America, the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel, the International Association of Defense Counsel, the Michigan Defense Trial Counsel, and the Defense Research Institute, where she was a past chair of the Commercial Litigation Committee. Ms. Lang had been repeatedly recognized by Michigan Super Lawyers as one of the Top 50 Women Lawyers in the state, and she was named as one of the Benchmark Litigation Leading Lawyers in Michigan, as well as one of the Benchmark Top 250 Women Litigators in the United States. Ms. Lang received the 2013 Excellence in Defense Award from Michigan Defense Trial Counsel. She was named 2016 Lawyer of the Year for Product Liability Litigation, Defendants; was listed in "The Best Lawyers in America" as a 2015 Woman Leader in the Law by ALM; and was featured in a "Crain's Detroit Business" special report on 14 leading litigators in Michigan. In 2017, Ms. Lang was identified by BTI Consulting Group, based on nominations by general counsel, as a Client Service All Star. She is a frequent lecturer and author for ICLE on a variety of litigation topics.
