Adoption, paternity, surrogacy, and assisted reproductive technology (ART) remain critical practice areas in the wake of Obergefell and Michigan’s new Assisted Reproduction and Surrogacy Parentage Act (ARSPA). A highly experienced faculty will guide you through the maze of law and procedural steps, with special focus on the latest legal developments, so you can provide thoughtful, sensitive advice.

• Counsel clients on issues surrounding assisted reproductive technology and the new ARSPA
• Establish parentage for children born via assisted reproduction
• Identify key provisions of the adoption code
• Recognize and handle different types of adoptions
• Determine requirements when requesting a termination of parental rights
• Advise clients on how paternity issues may affect adoption
