Susan Ruth Prentice-Sao is an attorney who joined the commission in 2019 after practicing criminal and youth defense for 15 years. She is a 2024 graduate of the Youth Defender Advocacy Trainer's Program at Georgetown Juvenile Justice Clinic and Initiative. Ms. Prentice-Sao is currently the program manager for the Byrne JAG grant Criminal Defense Trial Skills training program and the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention grants for Youth Defense Trial Skills training. She also serves as the lead trainer for both of these programs. Ms. Prentice-Sao is a nationally recognized presenter at conferences such as the Children's Law Section's Annual Conference and MIDC's Leadership Conference.
