Hon. Sima G. Patel was appointed to the Michigan Court of Appeals in 2022. Before joining the bench, she was an appellate attorney in private practice for over 11 years, representing clients in complex litigation before the Michigan Supreme Court, the Michigan Court of Appeals, and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Judge Patel began her legal career as a law clerk in the Michigan Supreme Court. She is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and various local and affinity bar associations, including the South Asian Bar Association and the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan.
