Joel L. Alpert has exclusively represented injured workers and military veterans for more than 40 years. He is a fellow of the College of Workers' Compensation Lawyers; a past chair of the Workers' Compensation Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan; a past chair of the Michigan Association for Justice Workers' Compensation Committee; and a member of the board of directors, state captain, and legislative committee member of the Worker's Injury Law and Advocacy Group. Recognized by his peers with the highest rating from Martindale-Hubbell as well as named as a "DBusiness" Top Lawyer and a Michigan Super Lawyer, Mr. Alpert is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, the American Constitution Society, and the American Association for Justice. Decisions on cases he has handled are published in "Michigan Reports," "Michigan Court of Appeals Reports," "Workers' Compensation Appellate Commission Reporter," "Michigan Compensation Appellate Commission Reports," "Workers' Compensation Appeal Board Opinion Reporter," "Trial Magazine," "Michigan Lawyers Weekly," and other national and state publications. Mr. Alpert has worked with legislators on issues related to worker’s compensation and the Medicare Secondary Payer Act at both the state and national level, and he has spoken and moderated at seminars and professional events across the United States on subjects related to worker's compensation law.
