Kevin T. Smith retired from the attorney general's office as an assistant attorney general in May 2014 after 30 years with the office. He practiced in the areas of tax and real property, with a primary focus on foreclosure of delinquent real property taxes. He appeared in circuit courts in at least 78 of the state's 83 counties and had a significant appellate practice. Mr. Smith is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, where he is a member of the Environmental Law and Real Property Law Sections. He has authored several articles and is a frequent speaker and panelist on the topic of property tax foreclosures.
