John W. Whitman currently runs his own practice focused specifically on facilitated mediation. Prior to this, he practiced in the areas of insurance law, criminal defense, and personal injury defense and litigation at Garan Lucow Miller, P.C., since 1993. Working primarily on Michigan no-fault insurance law, Mr. Whitman has tried nearly 150 cases to verdict in state and federal courts. He has served as a neutral mediator for private facilitation in cases throughout Michigan and the Midwest, is a member of the Washtenaw County Case Evaluation Committee, and serves as a case evaluator in Washtenaw and Lenawee Counties. Mr. Whitman is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Washtenaw County Bar Association. He has been listed in "The Best Lawyers in America" since 2017.
