Elise S. Levasseur practices in the area of immigration. She serves as counsel to companies seeking employment of foreign nationals in the H-1B visa category who have attained the level of a bachelor's degree by virtue of work experience, companies encountering INS resistance to the entry to the United States of Canadian or Mexican citizens under the North American Free Trade Agreement, and major corporations seeking entry of specialized knowledge, managerial, and executive-level foreign personnel. Ms. Levasseur is a past chair of the Immigration Committee of the International Section of the State Bar of Michigan. She is past education chair and past vice chair of the Michigan Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), as well as past cochair of its INS Liaison Committee. Ms. Levasseur is a frequent lecturer on business immigration topics with the American Society of Employers, the American Payroll Society, the State Bar of Michigan, and the AILA Michigan Chapter.
