Andrea L. Hansen is a litigation attorney with a particular focus on gaming, election, and appellate law. Ms. Hansen represents and counsels public and privately held casino operators, platform providers, and suppliers to casinos. She concentrates in gaming regulatory issues, advising clients on the requirements of Michigan Gaming Laws and representing clients in administrative hearings. Ms. Hansen possesses extensive experience with licensing issues, compliance matters, and regulatory proceedings before the Michigan Gaming Control Board. She represents gaming clients with respect to business matters and litigation of particular concern to the gaming industry. Ms. Hansen was extensively involved with drafting of amendments to Gaming Laws, including the Lawful Internet Gaming Act and Lawful Sports Betting Act. She represents platform providers, casino operators, and suppliers with licensing, internal controls, contracts, and overall regulatory approval process. Ms. Hansen also represents candidate and companies with respect to campaign finance issues, formation of candidate committees, and PACs and compliance therewith. She has extensive experience in preparing and challenging ballot initiatives at a local, county, and state level before the Board of State Canvassers, Michigan Court of Appeals, and Michigan Supreme Court. Ms. Hanson also deals with state regulation of campaign finance and lobbying issues, forms, and compliance matters. She serves as appellate counsel in state and federal courts on commercial, gaming, election, divorce, employment, and other complex matters. Ms. Hansen has been recognized by "The Best Lawyers in America" in the areas of commercial litigation, gaming law, and government relations practice from 2016-2024. She was named Lansing Gaming Law “Lawyer of the Year” in 2018, 2020, 2021, and 2023 and Lansing Government Relations Practice “Lawyer of the Year” in 2023. Ms. Hansen has been recognized as a Michigan Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers since 2013.
