Jason J. Liss practices in the area of property insurance, exclusively representing policyholders and other insureds in the preparation, presentation, and litigation of property insurance claims made under first-party commercial and homeowner property insurance policies. As an adjunct, Mr. Liss also litigates claims on behalf of companies and individuals who incurred uninsured losses due to the negligence of an insurance agent who failed to procure the proper first-party property insurance coverage. He is a former chair of the Insurance and Indemnity Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan (SBM) and a current member of the Michigan Association for Justice, the National Association of Public Insurance Adjusters, the National Association of Fire Investigators (NAFI), and the Oakland County Bar Association. Mr. Liss also serves as a hearing panelist for the Attorney Discipline Board and as a committee member of the SBM's Civil Procedure & Courts Committee. He is the author or coauthor of numerous articles on property insurance, many having been published in the Insurance and Indemnity Law Section's "Journal of Insurance and Indemnity Law." Super Lawyers has designated Mr. Liss a Michigan Super Lawyer annually since 2010, and he has been named a Top Lawyer by "DBusiness" annually since 2017.
