Michelle M. Letourneau-McAvoy is a domestic relations referee. Prior to her appointment, her law practice focused primarily on family law matters. While in private practice, Ms. Letourneau-McAvoy became a certified domestic relations mediator and completed the ICLE Family Law Certificate Program. Ms. Letourneau-McAvoy is a member of the State Bar of Michigan Family Law Council and participates in several committees. She is a current member and former president of the Referees Association of Michigan and cochair of the membership committee. She is a director on the board of directors for the Michigan Inter-Professional Association on Marriage, Divorce, and Family and sits on the family court forum planning committee. Ms. Letourneau-McAvoy is an editor for ICLE's "Michigan Family Law Benchbook" and is a former member of the Michigan Judicial Institute's Domestic Relations Quick Reference Materials Editorial Advisory Committee. She has been a guest lecturer at the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and at Oakland University.
