Jennifer L. Sabourin is a principal and a deputy group leader of the firm's Employment and Labor Group and a fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. She helps employers comply with state and federal employment laws and defends employers in agency charges and litigation. Ms. Sabourin provides national training for hourly, management, and executive-level employees on drafting employee handbooks, policies, and contracts and investigating claims of workplace discrimination, harassment, and violence. She counsels her clients on maintaining proactive employee relationships, including hiring, evaluating, disciplining, and terminating employees. Ms. Sabourin represents employers in discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and violations of wage-and-hour matters. She was named a Top Young Lawyer by "DBusiness" in 2013, listed in "The Best Lawyers in America" for litigation-labor and employment from 2012 to the present, and named a Michigan Super Lawyer Defense Rising Star for Employment Litigation from 2008 to the present. Ms. Sabourin is active with the Labor and Employment Law Sections of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan, and the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association and is a past president of the Dearborn Bar Association. She has written and spoken extensively on issues relating to employment law.
