Heidi T. Sharp’s practice concentrates on representing individuals in employment law and civil rights violations. Her experience includes claims involving whistleblowing, wage and hour laws, FMLA violations, equal pay violations, sex, race, disability, accommodations, national origin, pregnancy, age discrimination and harassment, contract violations, severance negotiations, and the gamut of employment laws in state and federal court. Much of her work is against public entities. Ms. Sharp’s work has provided significant guidance to other attorneys, with opinions handed down from the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals on issues such as FMLA, forced arbitration, accommodations, and damages. She has appeared in numerous appellate courts and administrative agencies, including the EEOC, unemployment insurance agency, Michigan Department of Civil Rights, Michigan Employment Relations Commission, and Michigan Tax Tribunal. Ms. Sharp is a past chair of the State Bar of Michigan Labor and Employment Council and cochair of the Federal Bar Association Labor and Employment Committee. In 2016, she was named to the "Michigan Lawyers Weekly" Women in the Law, in 2017 she was selected for Notable Women Lawyers in Michigan as listed in “Crains” magazine, and was listed as a Top 50: Women in “Michigan Super Lawyers”.
