Michael J. Cook is a partner in the firm's appellate practice group. His practice focuses on appellate litigation and dispositive motion practice in civil litigation matters, including professional liability, contractual indemnity, business torts, and general liability cases. Before joining the firm, from 2007 to 2009, he was a law clerk for Michigan Supreme Court Justice Robert P. Young, Jr. Mr. Cook is a member of the Appellate Practice Section of the State Bar of Michigan. He is admitted to practice in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth and Seventh Circuits as well as in the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan. Mr. Cook was named a Rising Star from 2014 to 2020 and a Super Lawyer for appellate law from 2022 to 2024 by Michigan Super Lawyers, listed as a Top Lawyer in appellate law by "DBusiness" magazine in 2017 and from 2020 to 2025, and included in "The Best Lawyers in America" for appellate practice from 2020 to 2025.
