Michael J. Cook is a partner in the firm's appellate practice group. He focuses his practice on appellate litigation and dispositive motion practice in civil litigation matters, including professional liability, contractual indemnity, business torts, and general liability cases. Before joining the firm, from 2007 to 2009, he was a law clerk for Michigan Supreme Court Justice Robert P. Young, Jr. Mr. Cook is a member of the Appellate Practice Section of the State Bar of Michigan and the editor of "Michigan Defense Quarterly." He is admitted to practice in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit as well as in the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan. Mr. Cook was named a Rising Star by Michigan Super Lawyers in 2014-2016 and a Top Lawyer in Appellate Law by "DBusiness" magazine in 2017.
