Justin J. Hakala is a coleader of the firm's medical litigation practice group, focusing on medical malpractice defense, as well as life sciences and product liability claims. As a former plaintiff's attorney, Mr. Hakala knows how to approach cases from both sides and leverages this experience to serve as a mediator in medical malpractice and other cases. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan (SBM), the American Bar Association, and the American Board of Trial Advocates and is admitted in Michigan, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan and the Northern District of Ohio, and the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Hakala served as the publications editor for the SBM's Antitrust, Franchising, and Trade Regulation Section, has published a number of articles, and wrote the subject matter treatise "Product Liability in Michigan." He is a routine speaker on trial advocacy, medical malpractice, and product liability topics.
