Kevin A. McQuillan is a senior attorney at the firm. He focuses his practice on trial and appellate advocacy across state and federal courts, with a strong emphasis on defending malpractice claims. Mr. McQuillan represents healthcare providers and hospitals in medical malpractice and professional licensing matters statewide. His experience includes successfully defending physicians, nurses, and other medical professionals against allegations of birth trauma, delayed diagnoses of cancer, surgical complications, monitoring failures, and wrongful death. Mr. McQuillan also has extensive experience in municipal law litigation and appeals with a focus on constitutional and civil rights issues, including use of force, search and seizure, free speech, due process, equal protection, and claims of deliberate indifference to serious needs. He has also advised and defended municipalities in land use and zoning matters, Freedom of Information Act and Open Meetings Act disputes, and employment-related litigation. Mr. McQuillan is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, Federal Bar Association, American Bar Association, Oakland County Bar Association, and Detroit Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in Michigan and before the U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, and the U.S. Tax Court.
